Welcome....

For many years, Calvert County did not employ a cash economy. Barter was an important method of exchange - eggs for salt and sugar, chickens for pork and beef, etc. World War II brought a shift to cash as the medium of exchange but agriculture continues to be a big part of the culture of Calvert County, Maryland.

Calvert County has three Farmers Markets throughout the County:

North Beach
Prince Frederick
Solomons
