Pasture Walk Held August 12th

On February 8, 2003, an informational seminar on pasture raised beef was held, with approximately 25 people in attendance. As a follow-up to this seminar, the USDA Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS), Calvert Soil Conservation District (SCD) and the Calvert County Agriculture Commission sponsored a pasture walk to provide technical information related to Eastern Gamagrass in established pastures.

The pasture walk was held at Eagles Ridge Ranch on Tuesday, August 12, 2003. Twenty-one people (nine farmers and twelve NRCS and SCD personnel) attended the pasture walk. SCD Personnel attended from Calvert, Charles, and St. Mary's Counties. Attendees learned more about the benefits of Eastern Gamagrass in establishing year-round grazing for livestock.
