Cybersecurity

CONFIDENTIALITY  |  INTEGRITY  |  AVAILABILITY

We work to protect the confidentially, integrity and availability of Calvert County information, data and information systems. Our number one priority is building a sustainable, comprehensive and user-friendly security program. The cybersecurity team works passionately to balance business requirements, system usability with the need to protect against ever-evolving cyber threats.

Our Cybersecurity Response

No matter how diligently we work to prevent a cybersecurity attack, sadly it's a matter of when not if, which is why cybersecurity response planning is so critical to what we do. The Calvert County Cybersecurity team works constantly to institute an incident response plan in the event Calvert County Government falls victim to ransomware, viruses, hacking, cybercrime, or any other malicious attack. A cybersecurity event can include any of the following:

  • Ransomeware
  • Email phishing
  • Ransomware
  • Data breaches
  • Distributed denial of service attacks

Any of these attacks may disrupt Calvert County Government services to our citizens.  We constantly prepare to detect, respond to and recover from cybersecurity incidents.  Our plans focus on minimizing the effect of such attacks, ensuring the continuation of critical county services and limiting downtime.
