Dog Park Rules and Regulations

  •  By using this facility, handlers understand and assume all responsibility and liability for the risks of unleashing dog(s) in this facility. Handlers and their dog(s) are using this facility entirely at their own risk. Handlers are responsible and liable for the health, actions and behavior of their dog(s) at all times. Calvert County Government assumes no liability for loss, damage, illness or any injury, sustained by any human or dog while using the dog park. 
  • Maximum of three dogs per handler. 
  • Children under 6 years of age are prohibited from entering the off-leash areas. 
  • An adult, who is responsible for their behavior and well-being, must accompany all children. 
  • Dogs must be leashed upon entering and exiting the dog park.
  • All dogs must be healthy, vaccinated, licensed and collared with identification. 
  • Dogs in heat are not permitted. 
  • Dogs under four months of age are prohibited. 
  • No animals other than dogs are permitted. 
  • Glass containers prohibited. 
  • Only small hand-held toys (pull, disc, ball, etc.) and folding chairs are permitted within off leash area. 
  • Any items left in the dog park will be removed and discarded at the end of each day including but not limited to chairs and personal items. 
  • Dog handlers must remain in the off-leash area and maintain sight of their dogs as well as voice-command control. 
  • Handlers must stop their dogs from digging and immediately fill any holes their dogs create. 
  • Handlers must pick up animal waste and dispose of properly. 
  • Any dog showing aggression towards people or other dogs must be immediately leashed and removed. 
  • Professional trainers and groomers may not conduct business in the off-leash area. Not-for-profit activities must obtain a permit from CCPR
