2026 Therapeutic Recreation Summer Camps

The Calvert County Department of Parks & Recreation Therapeutic Recreation Services is pleased to offer multiple summer camp options for individuals with special needs this year. Camp fees will be published in the Spring Activity Guide. Start planning and saving now. For funding options through the TR Duck Race, please contact TRS.

Camp Calvert 

June 22 - July 17

Camp Calvert is a 4 week camp for children and youth ages 5-21 (Camper must be 5 by June 23, 2026, NO EXCEPTIONS!) with various disabilities to participate in the same beneficial and fun programs found at a traditional camp.  Transportation from pick up locations in the northern and southern ends of the county. Personal Care will be available for medications, g-tubes, and personal hygiene care.

 TR Teen Adventure Camp

June 22 - July 17

This camp is held on Tuesday/Thursdays for individuals ages 13 to 21 who have high functioning disabilities that affect their social and emotional abilities.  This camp promotes appropriate peer interaction and community integration through daily field trips such as rock climbing, kayaking, ropes courses, and much more in Maryland, Virginia, and DC. NO PERSONAL CARE WILL BE PROVIDED.  

TR Summer Inclusion Camps

July 20-24,  July 27-31 and Aug. 3-7

This camp is for ages 5-21 years of age with special needs and is a collaboration between the Southern and Central Division and Therapeutic Services.   This camp will cater to those looking for a typical summer camp experience while also incorporating activities geared toward those with special needs. Must be able to participate with minimal assistance. Three sessions will be offered. 

TR TOT Camp

July 20-24

This camp is designed for children ages 3-5 with various disabilities to attend a weeklong, half a day camp. Children will participate in traditional camp games, crafts, sports and fitness activities along with a field trip on the last day of camp. Campers are to bring their lunches and TRS will provide mid-morning snacks. Children in diapers or pull ups will be accepted. 

All camps require pre-registration. Please contact TRS by phone at 410-535-1600 ext. 8204 or 8205 to register. Parent or guardian must complete and return the registration form before registration is considered complete.
