Title: Deputy Director of General Services


Thomas L. Jones, Deputy Director of General Services, is a graduate from Calvert High School. He has been with Calvert County Government for the past 10 years where he started as a Compactor Site Supervisor with Solid Waste. In 2015, Jones transferred to Fleet Maintenance, where he was responsible for the billing of service tickets, scheduling and pricing of work orders. In 2016, he was promoted to Buildings & Grounds Division Chief and in 2018 was promoted to Deputy Director of General Services, which included the merge of Fleet Maintenance under General Services. He is responsible for 60 employees comprised of the buildings and grounds, fleet maintenance, mosquito control and general services divisions. He was in the plumbing field for eight years and the flooring field for 16 years. For the last four years, Jones has volunteered as the team captain for Calvert County government’s Christmas in April team. He has served on the logistics team for Relay for Life for eight years and volunteers at the Calvert Marine Museum to help with event setup.
