Spring Turkey Season

Spring turkey hunting begins in mid-April.

Deer Hunting

In cooperation with the Maryland Department of Natural Resources, limited hunting is available at Biscoe Gray Heritage Farm, Flag Ponds Nature Park and Hughes Tree Farm.

Hunting will be permitted in appropriate seasons and requires a valid hunting license and a daily reservation from Maryland DNR. You can apply for the Southern Region Hunting Permit through the DNR website. For questions regarding specific areas and other methods to apply, please call the Myrtle Grove office at 301-743-5161.

General Information:
Parking is limited to the access driveway in designated spots.
Hunters must display a valid permit and daily reservation on their dashboard.
Hunters may scout (without a weapon) during regular park hours, no reservations required for scouting.
Sunday Hunting is not allowed.

Special Hunt Days Planned

In  partnership with the Chesapeake Longbeards Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation, we are offering three special hunt days aimed at introducing non-traditional audiences to hunting in a safe and controlled environment.

Daily permits are issued by the Maryland Department of Natural Resources.

A maximum of six hunters per day are permitted.

Safety Zones are marked around the entrance drive area and along the Forest Loop Trail.

Hunters park in the designated parking areas outside the gates on the entrance drive. NO PARKING in the equestrian area. Parked vehicles must have a copy of a valid State Permit and Daily Reservation visible on the dashboard.

All other MD DNR hunting regulations apply.
